One for Mum

My parents are always the first ones to see my new creations. When I showed them my necklace ( see last blog post), my Mum meant, that it is perfect for me indeed - but the dark pearls wouldn´t suit her neck. I dissented and so we tried it out in front of the mirror. To cut a long story short – she was wrong, I was right! My necklace fitted her perfectly!
So I rushed home and made one for her… here´s my newest creation (I used a vintage rhinestone piece from the fleamarket, which was an earring in former times):

I already gave it to her - and she loves it!

Thanks for visiting me today!

Vintage inspired Jewelry

I guess, this is my new passion: vintage inspired jewelry... I love to combine pearls and old rhinestone pieces!

This is my 2nd try on this:

I think these vintage inspired jewelry pieces are so gorgeous to wear - not only in the evening, but also during the day to jazz up a casual outfit, don´t you agree?!

Thanks a lot for all your lovely comments on my first piece, the bracelet!

Have a nice Sunday!

Sparkle!!

Ok, no papercrafting for the moment here at my little studio - I turned myself to a new (old) passion: jewelry!

I found some gorgeous rhinestone pieces at a flea market ...  I took one of those and added some pearls, that I bought in Italy...  this will be my favourite bracelet for spring and summer 2013! For sure!

LOVE IT!

Thanks for stopping by today!

SPRING...

… has finally reached the middle of Europe, too!

So, may I introduce you to our big apricot tree:

It was the only tree we could rescue while building our house… it is very old and taller than the house now…

This tree makes me happy in spring, when it is in full bloom and in summer, when the fruits ripen.

So, how did I get inspired by this beauty?!

apricot tree inspiration + ring base + fabric flower + big rhinestone = fashion jewelry

... and ...

apricot tree inspiration + designer paper in vernal colors + embellishments = another one of my “beloved” sticky-notes-booklets :-)

 ... and the inside ...

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by saying hello!

AB

What I really, really love are OLD things… whether it´s old furniture, old door knobs, old letters, old photographs, old recipes … essential is the patina!

And what´s really important to mention: old jewelry!

It need not to be fine gold or sterling silver – jewelry pieces need to tell a story or there should be a story concerning it´s history.

First I found the very talented Jamie at  http://www.simplymeart.com/  ( her jewelry is gorgeus!!! and she is such a nice person) and she recommended Amy Hanna´s book “Rejuvenated Jewels to me … since then I´m fond of the “Found-Objekt-Jewelry-Design“!

This means creating jewelry out of found objects and new pieces – unique pieces of jewelry.

Shimmering pearls and glass beads are in contrast with old metal or rough leather or sparkly rhinestones … these unique pieces of jewelry are eyecatcher and topics of conversation wherever you go – my own experience!

I always have to smile when I talk to somebody who looks on my jewelry not in my eyes… these pieces are no mass-production from fashion stores! They´re unique.

Do you want to see my first try on this? (see above)

Hugs,
AB
