SPRING...

 

… has finally reached the middle of Europe, too!

So, may I introduce you to our big apricot tree: 

 It was the only tree we could rescue while building our house… it is very old and taller than the house now…

This tree makes me happy in spring, when it is in full bloom and in summer, when the fruits ripen.

So, how did I get inspired by this beauty?!

Back home again

I´ve a terrible head-ache today, so I just want to let you know that I´m back home again from my beautiful weekend in…. can you guess it?


Here´s a hint for you:

 

 
… yes, you´re right… I´ve been to Italy the last few days to enjoy sweet life (“La dolce vita”).


I love to see pictures from other countries, so I assume that some of you might be interested in pictures from the cities I visited: Venice, Padua, Caorle. These are very picturesque cities!

I´ll show you some in the next few days….

Isn´t it such a heart warming thing to say “Thank You” and to get a “Thank you” back sometimes!?

These are my 2 “Thank Yous” for this week so far:

My sweet hubby surprised me and brightened my day with these colourful pretties – THANK YOU!!! *mwah*

 
 

 
 

2)

My mother in law made us happy with a very good dish: salty pancakes filled with ham and cheese – rolled up – breaded and fried in hot oil --> DELICIOUS!! THANK YOU!!!

I had only a few minutes till she delivered this fantastic dish to pretty up her favourite chocolate bar … much better than giving it “naked” to her, isn´t it?

For this reason I love my new Big Shot – embossing and cutting is so easy and quick now!

Sorry for the uninspired picture … just made a quick shot and then the door bell rang…

Vor 2 Wochen hatte ich die besondere Freude ein Seifenblasen-Shooting mit einem süßen kleinen Mädchen zu machen… ich hatte es mir einfacher vorgestellt… sowohl Kleinkinder als auch Seifenblasen sind recht unberechenbar ;-)

Trotzdem mag ich die Ergebnisse – sicher auch, weil ich die Kleine ganz besonders gern mag!

Two weeks ago I had the pleasure to do a soap-bubble-shoot with a cute little girl… I expected it to be easier than it really was… both, toddlers and soap-bubbles, are unpredictable ;-)

Nevertheless I like the results – most certain because I became fond of  that little girl!

Ich freu mich immer ungemein, wenn ich Kinder vor die Linse kriege!

Letztes Jahr bekam eine meiner liebsten Freundinnen ein ganz entzückendes Mädchen.

Sie war ca. 2 Wochen alt, als ich die ersten Fotos von ihr schießen durfte… es war Mai und die Rosen in unserem Garten standen gerade in voller Blüte – so nahm ich ein paar mit, um einen mädchenhaften Hintergrund zu gestalten. Ich wollte ein in Farben und Gestaltung „zartes“ Bild hinbekommen für die Karte zu ihrer Geburt.

Das war das fertige Bild für die Karte nach ein bisschen Digital Scrapbooking ( ich hab nur den Namen hier entfernt, um die Privatsphäre der Familie zu wahren)

I´m always more than happy if there´s an opportunity to take pictures from children.


Last year one of my dearest friends gave birth to a sweet baby girl.


She was 2 weeks old, when I got the opportunity to take some pictures of her… it was May and the roses in our garden were in full bloom – so I took some with me to create a feminine background for a soft and subtle pic for the baby-announcement-card….


After a little bit of digital scrapbooking this was the final pic for the card ( Ijust deleted her name for the sake of the families privacy)

Nachdem ich bei den 5Reicherts, von denen ich schon einmal berichtet habe http://apricotbubbles.blogspot.com/2010/07/langzeitbelichtungen.html , die Langzeitfotografie entdeckt habe, probiere ich sie in jedem Urlaub aus… hier ein Beispiel aus Budva/Montenegro… die Ansichten sind geteilt – meinem Mann gefällt die kurze Belichtung besser – ich bin natürlich ein Fan der 30sek.-Aufnahme…

Here you can see an example from Budva/Montenegro … the opinions are different – my husband likes the left pic – I´m a huge fan of the right one (30sec.)…

Serien / Series

Eine Möglichkeit Urlaubsfotos interessanter zu machen sind für mich Serien… ein Motiv oder eine Situation aus verschiedenen Blickwinkel, zu verschiedenen Tageszeiten etc. … oder verschiedene Motive derselben Art zu sammeln.


Ein oft gesehenes Beispiel sind alte Türen aus Griechenland… mein Mann und ich haben immer viel Spaß dabei, ein Motiv zu wählen, das für das Land typisch ist – oder für unseren Urlaub - und dann Serien zu fotografieren… wir hatten auch ungewöhnliche Motive dabei, wie z.B. Mistkübel/Abfalleimer in China oder bunte Hydranten in der Karibik… letztes Jahr waren es Boote in Kroatien…

Probiert es aus – es macht Spaß!


One way to make pictures of our vacation more interesting is shooting series… a subject or a situation from different angles or at different times of the day etc. … or collecting objects of the same kind.


An often seen example are old doors from Greece… my hubby and I enjoy to choose a “typical” motif of the country or something typical for our vacation and shoot series … there were also unusal motifs like trash cans/litter bins in China or colourful hydrants in the Carribean…. last year in Croatia I chose boats…


Give it a try – it´s real fun!
