Two in One

2 in 1:

"A Passion for Papertrey"  http://apassionforpapertrey.blogspot.com/2011/05/challenge-inspired-by-song.html wants us to be inspired by a song... I thought of Dionne Warwick´s "That's What Friends are For" ... and Cath wants to see moxie fab cards with the Chevron pattern... http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2011/05/chevron-chic-challenge.html so I combined these 2 in this 1 card!

I had not enough daylight inside of the house, so I decided to take my picture out in the garden ...

Thanks for stopping by today!
EDIT: A Passion for Papertrey liked my card - I´m a TOP 3 Passionista again! Thanks!
They said:
Ulina chose the song 'That's what Friends are for' for her fabulous friend-themed CAS card. So on trend with those chevrons right now!

Pipilonias Mai-Challenge

... is to explain a name and to paper-piece...

Until now I thought, that Ulina is a Russian name - this challenge was the reason to search the Internet for more information....

I didn´t find lots of information... there were hints, that there are women with this name in Russia, but also in Poland and the Czech Republik... I even found a hint, that there is a Finnish word ulina that means "howling" (Is that true, Annemaritta?)

The best hint was from a list of names for females - and I used this one for my project: Ulina is a term of endearment for "Ulrike" and is a composition of the meanings "home country" and "ruler/regent".
Well!

This is my project: it´s a book cover... I´ll bind it with the Bind-it-all as soon as possible... days are very busy now for me because of all the things that have to be done around the house and in the garden!

Thanks for stopping by today!

EDIT: Thanks for that gorgeous prize, Sindra!

1st time

It´s my 1st time being published!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At the end of 2010 I deliberated what my artsy goals for 2011 may be... and I thought by myself that it would be REALLY nice to see one of my cards in a magazine... ok... said... done.... I started submitting and - I got an acceptance notification even in December 2010!

I couldn´t wait to see my card there and I couldn´t imagine that I would be able to wait till May  :-)

But - time flies - now we have May and I got my specimen copy last week!

I´d like to share my joy with you!

I share page 145 with the very talented Julia Stainton:

... aaaand *drumrooooll* ... here´s my card :

Thanks for sharing my happiness with me today!

Black/White/Yellow

It seems, that CAS cards are my favourite cards right now... AND striking color-combinations!
I used the same design as on my last card - obviously a good recipe :-) (see last post)

I needed a Thank-you-card for this notebook, that I created as a gift a while ago:

You can see more pictures here if you like:

And this is the matching card ...

I´d like to enter this card here into the Less-is-more-challenge: http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/2011/04/week-13-lucky-dip-thank-you-or.html

Thanks for dropping by and have a nice day/evening,
